At My Signal... Unleash Hell. Anyone know where I can get a countdown timer until we "Roll"? Just so I know when I should be hiding my face from the rest of the world in acute embarrassment and revulsion for the wankers who've brought us to this situation. I watched Bush last night, Tony this afternoon and all I can say is christ, they're still churning out the same half-baked drivel: Terrorists = Saddam; a "broad" coalition; committed to Middle-East peace. All a load of bollocks. (Speaking of Middle-Eastern peace, read the emails of the American protester killed in the West Bank here.) Daring terrorists to "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough" is probably one of the most stupid things one man has done in a long time: "Should enemies strike our country, they would be attempting to shift our attention with panic and weaken our morale with fear. In this, they would fail. No act of theirs can alter the course or shake the resolve of this country. We are a peaceful people - yet we're not a fragile people, and we will not be intimidated by thugs and killers. If our enemies dare to strike us, they and all who have aided them, will face fearful consequences." Of course, that was only the second stupidest thing one man has done in a long time coming, as it did, after this statement: "The United States of America has the sovereign authority to use force in assuring its own national security. That duty falls to me, as Commander-in-Chief, by the oath I have sworn, by the oath I will keep." Saddam Hussein and his regime could not hit the nation of America even if it wanted to. The best Iraq can do is fire missiles at it's neighbours (and then, only the ones it shares borders with). Basically, if you're not within 150 miles of Iraq, you're full of shit. So what's with this national security crap? I'll try and resist ranting about this shite for a few days (at least until the war is up and running). Oh, Clare Short?
