1) Films - Some Like It Hot. There are moving films, affecting films, serious thoughtful films, but this one is by far and away my favourite. The perfect comedy.

2) Fantasy Worlds - Narnia. Well, I like Turkish Delight.

3) Fingers - I'm rather partial to my left index finger, actually. (You'll have guessed by this point that I'm finding it hard to find 10 favourite things beginning with F).

4) Festivals - New Year's is over-rated; Easter is a bit odd (giving stuff up isn't really festive in my book) and Christmas is horribly horrible. And expensive. I think I'll say Up-Helly-Aa. Burning longships are rather cool, after all.

5) Foreign countries - The US. Really, it's a whole heap of different countries and peoples all smooshed together. Or just assume I've said something profound if you'd rather.

6) Fiction - I'm a sucker for Coupland and Ian Banks, obviously. Give me intelligent, thoughtful and occasionally hilarious writing any day of the week.

7) Fine artist - It used to be Dali, because he was smart and sarcastic. Now I think it's someone more like Aubrey Beardsley. Smart, sarcastic and smutty. Hey - it's a progression, no?

8) Food - a steak. Big, bloody and unadorned. God, I'm carniverous when the mood takes me...

9) ... Um?

10) Yeah, let's leave it at 8, shall we?

Amazing storm last night. Probably shouldn't have been online all through it, right enough.

Thanks to Kriss, I was tipped off about Dresden Dolls' preview gig in a shopping centre this afternoon. Keyboard failure led to a covers set - including both T-Rex and Neutral Milk Hotel. It was rather good, but made me a little sad not to be at the gig tonight... Amanda sounds like her voice is a huge scented pillow smothering the breath from your body. Comfortable and very, very nice, right up to the end...
