You're either with us, or against us.

Bit of a geeky-boy outing yesterday - Jase, Andy and I went to see X Men 3 (or whatever idiotically pretentious title they've given it) then watched Doctor Who.

X Men is, in Andy's words, "Not half as bad as I'd thought it would be". Yeah, there are some ludicrously overblown set-pieces; rather odd editing and a cringe-inducing performance from Vinnie Jones that makes a lump of wood look like a RADA-educated thesp by comparison, but it's not all that bad, really. And there were at least two or three allegories contained within the plot. Kelsey Grammar was great too. Oh, and there was a strange girl that looked like Prince, apparently.

Doctor Who, on the other hand, did not do much for me. I think that if I was still an 8 year old clutching a comb in the shape of a dog (yes really) for comfort then I'd have been peeing myself but, as I'm not, I was slightly bored and a little disappointed by the lack of.. erm... tension? The new Doc* does anger well, mind. Fingers crossed for next week's episode.

Grant Morrison is a clever sod...

"The Chinese government-controlled Great Ten, making their debut next month, should prove less contentious. The team includes the Celestial Archer, with ties to Chinese mythology; Mother of Champions, who can give birth to a litter of 25 super-soldiers about every three days; and Seven Deadly Brothers, a martial arts expert who can divide into many."
