Damn, but Doctor Who was great. OK, so slightly wobbly special effects done with marker pen, but other than that? Gosh.

Very Buffy/Firefly at times - the writer has a hard-on for Joss, methinks, but if you're going to copy something, then look to the good stuff...

...or Doom 3.

Seriously, it was Doctor Who for people who don't like Doctor Who and for the geeks of us out there who've been screaming for a new planet. Plus they've pretty much gazzumped the (rather shabby-looking) Omen remake.

I also took time out from looking at old photos and Star Wars games to finish reading Cloud Atlas, which was annoyingly clever. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't annoying in a smart-arse way, more annoying because damn, I wish I was that good at writing. Plus, anyone who can have Huxley and Orwell described as "optimists" by the members of a distopian future society gets my vote.

The sun's shining and I'm sitting indoors doing not much of anything. Still, it could be worse - I could be in a cancelled sci-fi show.
