Is it just a thing with any and all Mrs Coulter's, or did Philip Pullman know something we didn't when he wrote Northern Lights?

I don't know if it's just because Blair said it or not, but I just realised today just how much it pisses me off when people talk about giving more than 100% of anything. The only time you can use a percentage greater than 100 is when you increase something, ok? It's like something being perfect - you either are, or aren't - it's a fucking absolute.

And I still have a hard time knowing why 250 cops were needed to arrest 2 guys - what? Did they queue up to take a turn through the semi-detached house? Raffle off tickets to shoot one of them?

Yeah, possibly bad men, but surely having that many people standing around is only to tell everyone but the terrorist suspects something?

I dunno, I'm just permanently suspicious and grouchy, these days.
