Apologies for my laziness - it's been a busy weekend, what with Doctor Who/World Cup overload on an HD TV (not quite as crap as I thought they were, to be fair*); The West End Festival and Glasgow Mela and basking in ludicrously un-Scottish weather.

Oh, and making my dad laugh like a mentally disturbed hyena when I told him he was "lucky to have a son like me".

Nice little things of note in amongst the big colourful ones:

Destroying Jase and Andy at Top Spin tennis (and managing to resist being too smug about it).

Fire-breathing virgins.

Burne-Jones stained glass turning a church into a forest glade (god, but that sounds poncy, but it really was pretty).

Oh, and just in case you think I'm getting all fusty in my dotage - laughing at crude grafitti on a path reading "Lauren White Got Bumed Here". I'm not sure who should be more upset - Lauren White, or Lynne Truss.

Plus Portugal winning their first match comfortably. Shame they won't win the thing, but it's nice to see them start well.

I'm not even going to sully this upbeat entry by commenting on the US and UK War on Terror.
