Fortunately, no relatives exploded.
The funeral yesterday was, well, alright, actually. Sure, my mum almost fell into the grave and yes, we all found it slightly annoying that the (dearly departed) cantankerous old bugger was put into the plot right beside my uncle Bill (who couldn't stand the man), but it was ok. A sunny day, a pretty little churchyard and a surprisingly large number of people there - hell - the minister even got his name right. So, yeah, I could do without having another one of these for, ooh, the next 20 years but, could have been worse. I ended up eating my own weight in chicken over the weekend too. Damn, just caught a bit of a programme on CBBC with Bill Paterson reading from a childrens' book and thought, for one glorious second, that they were showing "The Crow Road" again. Unlikely, but it would have been good - even better than the repeats of the ludicrously bitchy "I, Claudius".
